Andy Shallal opened the Zora Neale Hurston themed Southern restaurant in Washington, DC in 2009 following up on his success with the Langston Hughes themed bistro/bar/performance space Busboys and Poets. Eatonville has hosted food and folklore, celebrations, date nights, power lunches, friendly gatherings, and First Lady Michelle Obama.
